Extreme Rising drew around 1,000 fans for their return to Philadelphia at the Philadelphia National Guard Armory this past Saturday night for “Card Subject to Change”, which was taped for iPPV and is available RIGHT NOW on www.Highspots.com!

The biggest headline heading into the show was the situation with New Jack. “The Gangstas” were scheduled to face BLK OUT in a Steel Cage matchup, but prior to the match at the previous E.R. show in November, New Jack had injured his ankle and openly announced he needed surgery and wasn’t happy with the promotion not lending him the money needed. At that point, Extreme Rising pulled him from the show and announced online that he wouldn’t be attending the show, feeling that they couldn’t put him in the ring while he was hurt, due to insurance reasons obviously. Jack, in typical fashion went off on his Facebook page. In the end, all sides came to a agreement and New Jack made a run-in at the show and gets “hurt” and taken out. While in the midst of this, Mustafa, who is New Jack’s partner and is usually flown in from Las Vegas (where he lives) was cancelled from the show after the initial report of New Jack’s cancellation. By the time New Jack was re-added to the show, it was too late to get Mustafa from Las Vegas to Philadelphia for the show, so it was a no-go. Instead, Thomas Rodman dressed up and impersonated Mustafa, and did such a good job he fooled many in the crowd, and some of those in the back.

No major incidents at the show, a few minor ones did occur. Jerry Lynn got a black eye from Homicide and it swelled up by the time he was in the back. Facade badly cut his finger and had to tape it up to stop the bleeding mid-match. Jeez of BLK OUT injured his leg in the cage match, no word on if Jeez will be out of action yet.

Once the New Jack situation went down, Extreme Rising booked The Maximos to work as Los Dramaticos under masks and also booked The Briscoes from Ring of Honor (with their blessing). The Briscoes were never in the dressing room as they were hidden in a front office. They missed their music cue, its been reported that either they missed it unintentionally or the man in charge of the sound screwed up. They were over with the Extreme Rising crowd tremendously. Due to their Ring of Honor contract the cage match will NOT be available on the iPPV, but there has been talk of releasing the match for free online.

Raven was very vocal backstage about too many people being allowed to visit and at one point complained about Blue Meanie’s guests being there. The company is going to lock down the backstage area for future shows.

There were promos shot backstage building the Matt Hardy vs Luke Hawx and Stevie Richards vs Raven feuds.

The 4/4 return to Philadelphia, PA will be at the Philadelphia National Guard Armory. The promotion was looking into another venue, but plans never came through, so they are returning to the Armory. Super Crazy & Damien 666 will debut that weekend. The company will run State Island, NY on 4/5 and 4/6 at the Warriors of Wrestling Warehouse with the shows being that the fans will be able to vote on the matches. Something that All Japan Pro Wrestling used to do annually.

Cody Michaels, who usually helps run backstage was not there due to a family commitment. Alex Reynolds and John Silva from NYWC earned a regular spot with Extreme Rising for their showing in the three way. Both were suggested by Papadon.

Matt Tremont was a last minute substitute for Steve Mack, who had car troubles and missed the show. He was scheduled to debut and team with XL. The promotion is high on Mack, so expect him to pop up there in 2013.

There is talk of dropping the live bands playing before the show completely. The company was happy with the crowd, but hoped to top 1,000 at the show. They were not happy with their own delays and disorganization in certain aspects of the show and vowed to improve that as we go forward in 2013. There also working on production upgrades, specifically sound and lighting.
